Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a proposed construction site, which had first been developed in the 17th century. Foundation walls and a cellar were revealed which probably related to a 19th century building, demolished during the 1930s. Medieval pottery was recovered from a small area of soil which may have been the fill of a pit. It was concluded that only small 'islands' of archaeology were likely to survive between areas of disturbance. [AIP] |
