Abstract: |
A condition was attached to planning permission for an archaeological watching brief to be conducted on the groundwork trenching prior to the construction of a domestic dwelling. 36m of foundation trench were examined which revealed naturals sands and clay overlain by a subsoil which in turn was overlain by a post-medeival ploughsoil that was observed to contain a flint and stone rubble field drain. There were no archaeological finds and it was considered that no further work would be required. [Au(adp)] |
