Abstract: |
The desk-based assessment was carried out in advance of the construction of a new medical centre and associated community facilities. The assessment examined the available documentary and cartographic evidence to identify any areas of potential archaeological interest. The site was considered to have archaeological potential due to its location near to, or within the medieval settlement of Willenhall. The site also had potential for post-medieval industrial archaeology, in particular lock-making. The site was found to have been greatly disturbed by building and demolition, especially during the course of the last two centuries. [Au(abr)] |
