Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of a trench for an outfall pipe. The primary role of the watching brief was to identify and record any possible submerged peat bog or forest remains survivng from the early post-glacial period. Such remains had been identified on both sides of the Bristol Channel in the vicinity of Lynmouth (at Minehead and Porlock). No deposits of peat of survivng forest remains were encountered. [AIP] |
