Abstract:		 The desk-top assessment was undertaken on an area with unknown archaeological potential but which lay within Deal and could therefore hold valuable evidence concerning the development of the town. The site of the proposed development did not contain any known archaeological sites. It did, however, lie in an area of demonstrated archaeological activity. The site had suffered differential amounts of post-medieval disturbance which may have been responsible for the lack of archaeology. [AIP]
