Abstract:		 <summary>Further excavations were undertaken as part of a continuing programme of research into the Neolithic sequence and context of the Avebury area. Having established the existence of two palisade enclosures in previous seasons of work, further investigations revealed the second enclosure to be oval with a long axis of over 300 metres. Within its south-eastern part, three double concentric structures 30-40 metres in diameter were shown by the presence of Grooved Ware pottery and associated flintwork to belong to the Late Neolithic. A search was also made for the ditch or ditches of the first palisade enclosure in its north-west quadrant, but without success. {italon}AIP{italoff}
