Abstract: |
The assessment was carried out to highlight the potential for the discovery of archaeological remains at the car park site. The best-preserved remains of the Roman town of Chichester lay under the southern third of the site, in the form of thenorthern suite of rooms of the Public Baths, excavated in 1974. The proposed development consisited of a new museum and tourist information centre, with the remains of the baths on display in the new building. [Au(abr)] |
