Abstract: |
Trial trenches in three locations to the south of the river demonstrated that organic preservation of 12th century levels was good, with wickerwork, timber and leather surviving. Some timbers may have related to a quayside structure whilst others may be the remains of a collapsed quayside building. Dendrochronological dating established a felling date of 1146 for some of the timbers. [Au] |
