Abstract: |
Watching briefs were carried out during the excavation of eight tree pits at various locations within the City of London. Archaeological deposits were found in only one pit, which lay within the precinct area of a 12th century priory. Demolition material containing a large amount of chalk and green sandstone, probably medieval in date, was found. A post-medieval post hole and three possible rubbish pits were also identified.
