Abstract: |
A geomagnetic survey was carried out prior to planting works associated with the Woodland Adventure Park in this area of known Iron Age settlement. The current survey location was selected in order to extend the area of detailed geophysical investigation that was started in 1999. Evidence for several substantial ditches was detected by the survey, confirming the presence of a ditched enclosure. Several other ditch features were identified to the south of the enclosure, the possible remains of a track or droveway and possible ring-ditches. Medieval ridge and furrow remains were also detected, the furrows of which may have been re-used later for laying field drains. [Au(abr)] |
