Abstract: |
38 archaeological sites are within 250m of the pipeline route. The sites include a group of five Bronze Age round barrows, findspots of prehistoric flint, and a Roman Road with an associated cist burial. However, the mahorite of the sites comprise the remains of field systems, ridge and furrow and a number of stone quarries of medieval.post-medieval date. There is also a spring, a well, a series of ponds and four list buildings. The impact of the pit excavation on archaeological remains is thought to be minimal. [Au(abr)] |
