Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on land adjacent to 'Solair', Mileham prior to residential development. A single 22m long trench was excavated at the centre of the housing plot. At the north of the trench, adjacent to The Street, the base of a ditch and the remains of three post-holes were excavated, producing pottery of medieval date. South of the street frontage excavations revealed a possible construction slot and two large ditches. The most northerly of the ditches contained medieval pottery. The other contained two sherds of Ipswich ware dating the feature to the Middle Saxon period. [Au(abr)] |
