Abstract: |
Trenches were excavated following the discovery, by a metal detectorist, of a skeleton and grave goods. A single human inhumation was excavated. However, it is not believed that this was the skeleton encountered by the detectorists. The skeleton was badly damaged, probably as a result of ploughing, and no grave goods were found. A single sherd of pottery found in the grave suggested a Saxon date for the burial. [Au(abr)] |
