Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation, consisting of a geophysical survey and the excavation of six trial trenches, 2m wide by 20m long, revealed limited evidence for activity during the mid-late medieval period. No direct evidence associated with the nearby Chilvers Coton pottery kilns was found. The evaluation trenches indicated large areas of disturbance, possibly relating to known industrial activity in the vicinity. The lack of dating evidence from this disturbance hindered any further explanation. [Au(adp)] |
