Abstract: |
The assessments identified a number of extant features on or near the site that were historic and archaeologically significant. These were: Grim's Bank, an earthwork feature bordering the site to the south-east; traces of earthwork boundaries and ridges relating to the historic use of the site as managed woodland; and evidence of coppicing in the surviving remnants of woodland on the periphery of the site. The potential for buried archaeological remains to have survived on the site was unclear. The presence of such remains could not be ruled out. [Au(abr)] |
