Abstract: |
A desk-top study was undertaken with the aim of providing data for an informed assessment of the remains of the two successive fora and basilicas of Roman London, with a view to possibly scheduling all or part of the site. Substantial parts of the forum had been damaged by medieval and later robbing and development, and only some of the affected areas had been recorded. It was concluded that although much of the forum sequence was known, several areas remained where elucidation would be required in order to allow the forum to be more fully protected. [AIP] |
