Abstract: |
Documentary sources confirm that Wickham Hall dated back to at least 1487 and the extant farmhouse may have lain on the site of a late medieval hall. Two trenches showed a build-up of subsoil above the natural gravels, while a third trench suggested parts of the central area of the farm may have been levelled quite recently with clay. [Au(abr)] |
