Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological observation was undertaken during groundwork associated with the construction of seven dwellings. A large ditch was observed to run along the southern edge of the site, parallel to Bridlington Road. Its date was uncertain but it would appear to have been backfilled by the mid-19th century. A remnant of a small unidentified stone structure with an offset footing was found at the northern edge of this ditch. Two probable post-medieval features were found in the northern part of the site. A linear feature running approximately north-south appeared to have been cut at its north end, by a roughly square shaped pit. [Au(abr)] |
