Abstract: |
A desk-based study supported by walk-over survey was undertaken to assess the archaeological impacts of the proposed route options for the A38 Liskeard to Bodmin improvement. The preferred route with the Green Route option was shown to have a direct impact on four known archaeological sites: two Iron Age linear earthworks at Largin and possible sites of a mill, and a cross at West Taphouse. The preferred route with the Blue Route option had a direct impact on three known archaeological site: one Iron Age linear earthwork at Largin, and the possible sites of a mill and a cross at West Taphouse. Although no Bronze Age barrows were directly effected by the proposed route, both the route options passed close to four well-preserved barrow cemeteries. [Au(abr)] |
