Abstract: |
The archaeological work consisted of soil stripping and map/sample excavation. A number of medieval and post-medieval features and finds were recorded. Medieval remains comprised a probable ditch and two pits; finds included pottery. Post-medieval remains comprised a number of wells, post holes, and a clay lined pit or tank; finds included animal bone, pottery, clay pipe fragments and ceramic building material. Most of the post-medieval features were likely to have related to small scale industry as well as domestic settlement. [AIP] |
