| Abstract: |
An evaluation undertaken on a site proposed for quarrying identified three main zones of topography/stratigraphy where archaeological features had been truncated and/or buried by alluvial episodes and ancient ploughing. Two probable prehistoric enclosures, of either Neolithic or Bronze Age date were discovered. Late Neolithic activity was identified in the form of a single pit containing Grooved Ware pottery. Archaeological features positively identified as Middle/Late Iron Age were also located. [Au(adp)] |
