Abstract: |
Evaluation trenching was undertaken ahead of the site's conversion to a playing field. The trenching was carried out to determine the nature of features identified by an earlier geophysical survey. The proposed playing field lay in an area of high archaeological potential near to known settlements and field systems of later prehistoric and medieval date. No features of archaeological significance were revealed during the evaluation trenching. A single unstratified prehistoric flint scraper was recovered during the trenching. [Au(abr)] |
