Abstract:		 An archaeological assessment comprising a desk-top study of recorded information from several archival sources and a site visit was undertaken. A Roman cemetery was identified within 100 metres of the site and it was possible that it, or associated settlement, may have extended into the area of the proposed development. It was concluded that a field evaluation through trial trenching may be required. [Au]
