Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was required during the operations to provide new drainage and repaving within the central courtyard of Hugh Sexey's Hospital, Bruton. Disturbed deposits and features contemporary with the building of the hospital in the 17th century and its use up to the present day were widely encountered, with occasional evidence for features which may have preceded the 17th century hospital buildings.
