Abstract: |
All the trenches excavated contained features. The earliest included a shallow 13th century pit containing ashy deposits, perhaps relating to a disasterous fire. A possible medieval ditch waas interpreted as a former property boundary. The rest of the features were mainly 17th and 18th century in date, including a waterlogged channel with wooden revetments and several pits, perhaps relating to gravel quarrying. A watching brief was recommended. [Au(abr)] |
