Abstract: |
An evaluation took place on the former site of the 17th century Trinity Almshouses. Only part of the site was investigated at this stage, as tennis courts and a car-park occupied one area. Occasional prehistoric finds had been recorded in the vicinity, but few remains dating from later periods were known. No structural evidence for the almshouses was revealed during the evaluation. However, foundation robber trenches were encountered. It was concluded that only a watching brief would be necessary on this part of the site. [Au(adp)] |
