Abstract: |
Four evaluation trenches were excavated on the site, close to the centre of the shrunken medieval village of Sawley. Only one medieval feature, a post hole, was identified. Foundations of an 18th-19th century building fronting the street were identified. A lace makers cottage incorporated into the later factory was also recorded. [Au(abr)] |
