Abstract: |
An evaluation was held in an area expected to yield remains of 19th century buildings known to have stood on the site. Apart from demolition rubble, a manhole and cover none were found. This suggested that the foundations were reasonably shallow and had been removed during the levelling of the area. No archaeological deposits earlier than the demolition of the 19th century buildings were encountered and none were suggested by the finds. [Au(adp)] |
