Abstract: |
Two trial trenches were excavated prior to development, and a watching brief maintained during the excavation of all foundations and service trenches. The excavation of two kilns 200m to the south east in 1964 identified the production of pottery in the 16th century. The present watching brief identified concentrations of pottery of 14th century in date. The two groups suggest that pottery production in the village was extensive both geographically and in date range.[Au(abr)] |
