Abstract: |
The archaeological evaluations revealed limited evidence for 12th - 13th century activity associated with the earliest phase of the town in the form of a boundary gully and pits. Further boundary construction in the 15th - 16th century appears to have been connected with the burgage plot, although there was further pit digging in that area at this time. The boundary gully was recut in the 17th early 18th century but there was no further activity within the area untill the 19th century. [Au(abr)] |
