Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was undertaken to identify features of archaeological interest within Preston Park as part of the formation of a development plan for the area. The potential was recognised for the presence of pre-medieval activity in the park as well as medieval activity which was represented by nine furlongs of ridge and furrow. The industrial use of the site was also recognised with the presence of a quarry at Whin Sill and the route of the Stockton & Darlington Railway. [AIP] |
