Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during groundworks prior to the drilling of an exploratory borehole, at a site where a scatter of Neolithic or Bronze Age flint flakes had previously been observed. A Neolithic axe, an arrowhead, Bronze Age barrows and a Saxon cemetery with over 130 graves had been recorded in the vicinity. During the watching brief, eighteen Late Neolithic or Bronze Age worked flints and three sherds of probable Saxon pottery were recovered. No archaeological features were observed. [Au(adp)] |
