Abstract: |
An excavation was undertaken in connection with the repaving of Church Walk (involving an area of about 80 sq m). After lifting the paving slabs, the ground beneath was removed archaeologically to a depth of 0.25m from the existing surface. Post-medieval building activity had caused disturbance over much of the site with an east-west wall and cellars as well as more recent services present. The remains of three human skeletons were found, recorded and removed. No other significant archaeological features were identified. [Au] |
