Abstract: |
Based on the results of a dekstop assessment and field walking exercise, a total of 34 trial trenches and test pits were excavated, and a geophysical survey was undertaken on the site which held potentially important medieval remains. The excavation revealed struck flints which were undiagnostic but were at least Early Bronze Age or later in date. A medieval house platform and hollow way were also revealed as well as associated medieval earthworks. Also revealed were the remains of a post-medieval iron working forge and lime kiln. [AIP] |
