Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was conducted in advance of a proposed development. The evaluation comprised a topographical and photographic survey, geophysical survey (Fluxgate gradiometer) and the excavation of 12 trial trenches across the site. Ridge and furrow was identified in several areas of the site. Linear ditch features, possibly of early date, were recorded in Trenches 3, 9 and 12. These may have been associated with medieval and/or prehistoric enclosures. A further open area excavation was recommended. [Au(adp)] |
