Excavation in advance of a housing development on two plots east and west of Manor Cottages revealed medieval building remains fronting Northend Road. To the east a stone-built house with a rubble yard to the rear was occupied from the later 13th century to the early 15th century. To the west another house with a possible outbuilding was probably occupied from the 12th/13th century to the early/mid-14th century. [Au] |
