Abstract: |
The desk-based assessment found a reasonable potential for archaeology within the area of proposed development, particularly in relation to nearby Roman pottery kilns revealed during large scale excavations c.350 metres to the south of the site. As the proposed development would involve deep piled foundations, it was likely that the construction of the foundations would have a significant impact on any archaeological deposits that may have been present within their footprint.
