Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation, consisting of the excavation of two trial trenches (11.5m by 3m and 13.5m by 3m) and two trial pits (2m by 2m), was undertaken at 9 Appold Street and Snowdon House. This yielded evidence of the historic Moorfields Marsh and topographic information as to its extent, 17th, 18th and 19th landfill dumps, 16th century decorated stonework reused in the 19th century foundation and 19th century cellars.
