Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a shop. No remains were known in the immediate vicinity, although the site appeared to lie to the north of the historic core of the medieval village of Sutton. Two trenches were excavated, but little of archaeological interest was found. Four possibly Mesolithic knapped flints were recovered. It was concluded that the site did not lie within the area of the historic settlement. [Au(adp)] |
