Abstract:		 It was shown that a site proposed for redevelopment, formerly a municipal airport, lay within an area of extensive Romano-British occupation which probably extended into the application area. During the medieval period the study area formed part of Filwood Park, and after enclosure but prior to its development as an airfield, the area was predominantly used for pasture. [Auth abridged]
