Abstract: |
Three trial trenches were excavated across the site in order to fulfil a condition upon planning permission for the construction of additional classrooms, new access and carparking at Church End Lower School. Trench one revealed perpendicular ditches which probably defined early medieval property boundaries. A large quantity of domestic debris was recovered. Later bounadry ditches a very small number of features indicated the main focus of activity within the lay to the west towards the church and Church End frontage. [AIP] |
