Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of ground reduction trenches and a test-pit at the site of the Monoux Almshouses. Founded in the 16th century, these had been rebuilt during the 1760s and the 1950s. Dumps or levelling deposits were encountered which were probably associated with the previous rebuilding phases.
