Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out in advance of the construction of a pipeline, at a site which lay adjacent to Stock Farm Roman Villa. Evidence suggesting the presence of a scowl, formed by the extraction of vertical seams of iron ore, was recorded, and small amounts of iron slag and pottery were recovered. It was recommended that a watching brief should be undertaken during development. [AIP] |
