Abstract: |
An evaluation was undertaken on land proposed for a housing development. A medieval kiln had previously been revealed during the digging of a sewer trench on adjacent land and it was thought that associated features may extend into the proposal area. Trial trenching revealed no finds or features indicative of the presence of a nearby kiln, although a possible ancient cultivation layer suggested that the medieval field system could have extended into the eastern part of the application site.
