Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation discovered limited evidence of prehistoric activity within the development area. Pottery sherds and flints were collected from topsoil over the site. An isolated ditch, tentatively dated to the prehistoric period (due to the nature of the ditch fill), was located in the NW sector of the development area, an area previously thought to be of little archaeological potential. The evaluation trenches which overlay cropmark plots revealed no archaeological features. The cropmarks were thought to possibly be a product of the mixed drift geological deposits within the development area. [Au] |
