Abstract: |
The evaluation trenches revealed a post-medieval chalk block structure overlying a flint-cobbled surface set in mortar. This surface was also present in trench five along with earlier versions of it, and was sealed by a later of dark silt loam containing Roman pottery. This surface almost certainly represented the Roman street predicted to run through the site. [Au(abr)] |
