Abstract:		 A programme of archaeological recording was undertaken during the excavation of trial pits during remedial works on the embankment of the Shrewsbury to Crewe railway, Battlefield. Despite the archaeological potential of the site, the programme of archaeological recording identified no archaeological remains within the area of observed groundworks. It seemed likely that any archaeological deposits were removed during the construction of the railway embankment. [Au(adp)]
