Abstract: |
Archaeological field evaluation was carried out on land proposed for new housing at New Barn Farm, Great Hinton, Trowbridge. No pre-post-medieval finds or features were revealed by the evaluation. The wall foundations and land drains found were evidently modern, and there was no evidence that the culvert and pond were anything other than post-medieval or recent. There were no special factors which might indicate that earlier features went unrecognised, and the total absence of medieval or earlier finds from the site suggested that there had been little early activity in the immediate area.
