Abstract: |
The main archaeological interest was that the site lay in the 7th-9th century Saxon town of Lundenwic. The basement of the present building would have removed most original archaeological stratigraphy, but occasional truncated Saxon and later features and an early natural palaeochannel may still have survived below the slab level.
