Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken within the keep of Scarborough castle. The main focus of the work was to ascertain if there was a central support or cross wall for the keep at basement level. The excavations failed to reveal such a structure although the walls were found to continue down at least a further 1.2metres. [AIP] |
